Sep. 23rd, 2004 11:30 amI'm back! Temporarily, at least. And I didn't really go anywhere, so there's probably a better way to open this entry, but I'm not striving for perfection here, just mild entertainment. Or proving I'm not dead/run away to join the circus/transferred to Alaska. Although that last one I wouldn't be against.
Things are going well. Three hurricanes since I moved here and I have yet to be swept out to sea. Very disappointed. My grandmother lost her house in Charlie (Charley? eh, whatever) and is currently living with my aunt in Fort Meyers, which suffered some pretty serious damage also. She's taking it very well - says it's an opportunity to redecorate. This is NOT the first time it's happened, so once she got over the shock of it, she's been coping very well. My mother, on the other hand, is freaking out.
What else? I found an extra hundred bucks lying around that I didn't know I had, so I'm thinking I may treat myself to Hercules Season 4 - which I still do not own. Stupid moving expenses. Or I may be a good girl and use the money to prepay some bills and create a nice cushion for myself in the event of an emergency. Yes, sir, that would certainly be the responsible, adult thing to do.
*casts a sideways glance at Iolaus*
We'll see how long my sense of responsibility can hold out against him. I figure about two or three days, if I'm lucky. Maybe I'll have spent the money on mature, responsible things by then.
In other news, my new boss JN and my old boss, BR are going to be sharing a hotel room at the Store Managers conference in Florida this weekend. JN has spent the last several days pointing out that it will be the perfect opportunity for him to get some dirt on me, and share the more amusing anecdotes of my new position. Like the Mel Gibson thing. Which I think I handled pretty damn well, thank you, considering you can't really reason with people like that once they've made up their minds.
I just bid on a season 4 box set on ebay. So, there we go with the willpower, baby.
Gargoyles Season One is out on DVD this December, for all you cartoon fans out there. I'm still waiting for the day they come to their senses and give us Darkwing Duck so I can go on a serious sugar high and relive my childhood for a little while, but Gargoyles is a nice step forward. Disney says if it sells well, they'll release other things as well, so I'll keep my fingers crossed.
God, I am such a dork. :) But I wear it so well!
I've been writing a lot the last few weeks - mostly YYH fic, which is kind of nice. I haven't been productive with any of those stories in a while, and I really like a couple of them. A couple of them are pure trash, of course, but I think I feel that way about a good 30% of what I write.
Anyway, I know I had about twenty more things to say, but I can't remember any of them so I'm going to run before my time runs out. I'll see [Unknown site tag] and [Unknown site tag] this weekend.
Resident Evil 2? *waggles eyebrows*
bye all
