Watching Prometheus for the first time! Herc and Iolaus guest starring! I'm a little disappointed - I mean, Hercules was walking off to his death and Iolaus spent half the episode dying, we could have had SOME sort of happy reunion at the end, but hey. Still good stuff. Love the "hard of head" line. Love Iolaus trying to say goodbye and Hercules being stubborn.

Will not write Hercules fic. Will not. No. Bad Kelly.

Meanwhile, in the real world (aka NOT Ancient Greece), it's absolutely gorgeous out, which, as many of you know, is a code phrase for "Kelly has to go to work." My last six days off it's been pouring rain, but it hasn't rained ONCE while I was at work. I'm beginning to become bitter. Think I'm exaggerating? I had the 18th off - that's right. The day the hurricane hit.

I think I'll go into work a half hour early today, get some stocking done down in Receiving. We're already getting Christmas inventory, which means my allocated backstock went from one 12-foot bay, to three 12-foot bays. I love my job, but some days I wish someone else got to be in charge.

Speaking of which, our American Girls Club met last night, and, let me tell you, I kicked serious butt. Plus I got to announce the contest. You'll love this.

So Barnes & Noble is working with Pleasant Company on an American Girls contest. We're displaying their newest girl, Kaya (the Native American who lived in 1764. I'm not keen on American Girls, but if I was, I'd probably like her best) from October 15th to November 6th. And as part of that display, we're giving away one of the Kaya dolls.

Now, if you're not into American Girls, you may not know that this doll retails for $84. And they're gorgeous dolls, with tons of accessories and clothing.

So when I brought the doll out to show the girls at the meeting, you could literally see their eyes popping out of their heads. One little girl, who's going to grow up to be a lawyer, asked how many dolls there were, how many stores had them and how many stores were in Richmond. *laughs* The parents were all about entering the contest now, and everyone wanted to know the rules, how many times they could enter, if they had to be present at the drawing to win, etc. On the one hand, it was kind of funny, but on the other, these dolls are expensive as hell, and a lot of the girls who come to these meetings aren't from very wealthy families. So this may be the only chance they have to get an American Girl Doll. Makes me wish we had a dozen of them to raffle off.

Mind you, if I was allowed, I'd enter the contest myself. These dolls are very nice.

*stretches* Okay, time to get ready for work. Hope everyone's having a great weekend!
