lady_flamewing requested an epilogue to The Longest Winter in which several things were to happen. I never wrote that. I did write a picnic scene where Yuusuke is a dork and takes the piss out of Kuwabara. It never really went anywhere and I'm forced to admit it probably never will. I'm mostly posting it just so I can publicly admit that I never finish anything and suck.
"Dude," Yuusuke said, lacing his hands over his stomach and blinking up at the sun. "When you said Hiei was your brother-in-law I was sure you meant Yukina had lost her mind and decided to finally surrender to your awkward advances. Instead I find out that you're in a threesome with a dog demon and his human concubine-"
"I am not!"
"Concubine?" Kagome repeated.
"Not true," Inuyasha said hastily raising his hands to shoulder height and edging away from Kurama with a nervousness that was only partially feigned.
"You're not philosophically opposed to the idea of a threesome, though?" Kurama asked Kuwabara, ignoring Inuyasha.
"-and Yukina's hooked up with your sister, which is equal parts hot and kind of weird, to be perfectly honest with you," Yuusuke concluded, ignoring the commotion he set off. "Meanwhile, you've also been making time with my girlfriend-"
"I am not!"
"Girlfriend?" Keiko asked pointedly.
"Not for lack of effort on my part," Atsuko said. "Frankly, I always thought Keiko could do better than you, Yuu-chan."
"I wouldn't be opposed to that," Kurama informed Kuwabara, grinning as the human groaned and flopped backwards on the grass.
"As I was saying," Yuusuke said loudly, glaring at his mother and girlfriend/fiancé/whatever. "And now you're cheating on all three of them with Kurama. I'm impressed, frankly. I never thought you'd manage to get laid once, let alone string along four sexy bitches."
"I am not. God. Someone make him shut up." Kuwabara rubbed a hand over his eyes.
"Bitch?" Kagome and Keiko chorused. Kurama chuckled while Inuyasha rolled onto his side and glared at Yuusuke through narrowed eyes.
"So who else has hooked up while we were gone?" Yuusuke asked. "Mitarai and Botan? Mom making time with Mrs. Minamino?"
"Your mind is a horrifying place," Kuwabara said. "I can't imagine what it must be like to live inside it day after day. Explains a lot about you."
"I always thought picnics were romantic," Kagome sighed. "I obviously had no idea."
