Questions meme!

Comment to this post, and I will list seven things I want you to talk about. They might make sense or they might be totally random. Then post that list, with your commentary, to your journal. Other people can get lists from you, and the meme merrily perpetuates itself.

My questions from [livejournal.com profile] isiscaughey are:

1. What was your first real fandom? If we define fandom as involving the internet and other people, then probably Star Trek or X-Men. Honestly, there's no way to tell which happened first. But I was writing fanfic for TMNT and various Disney Afternoon shows long before that (I had several terrible epics about Kit Cloudkicker's parents coming back for him and taking him away from Baloo! Or Gosalyn Mallard's biological parents taking her away from Drake! Or - I think you probably get the idea. I killed off a lot of main characters as well, but I brought them back much more frequently back then.)

2. Favorite comic book writer? Warren Ellis. I like a lot of what Peter David is doing over in X-Factor. I like some of Brian Michael Bendis' stuff, and Brubaker's run on The Authority, even if we didn't get as much resolution as I wanted. Also Dan Abnett! (World's End was awesome and WHY isn't there more fic for that?)

3. If you could have a crossover between any of your two fandoms, which would you choose? Right now the answer is hands down The Authority and The Avengers because my GOD would they not know what to do with each other. I always wanted to do a Supernatural/Yu Yu Hakusho crossover, too. Or pretty much any of my fandoms/zombie apocalypse.

4. Best concert you've ever been to? Probably when I went to see Evanescence with [livejournal.com profile] dredpirateleena.

5. Three books you've loved since you were young? One Hundred and One Dalmations by Dottie Smith, The Gammage Cup by Carol Kendall and The Hardy Boys by Franklin W Dixon.

6. Fictional character you most identify with? This is really hard to answer, partially because I know anything I say is going to provoke someone to say they don't agree for whatever reason and partly because it's kind of a revealing question, isn't it? If I had to chose, I'd say Ezra Standish, from the Magnificent Seven, because he wants to be a good person but just can't manage to stop himself from pushing people away and ruining a good thing when he finds it. I've been told I'm Genkai from Yu Yu Hakusho, and Leonardo from the Ninja Turtles. I'm okay with that, because they're the ones who know what's going on. ^_^ Of course, in a perfect world I'd be Pepper Potts or someone else seriously kickass and competent. (Oh! Barbara fucking Gordon!)

7. If you could make one request for the Avengers movie (a moment, a character cameo, etc), what would it be? I want a Steve and Tony moment. I mean, obviously, I'm on [livejournal.com profile] cap_ironman we all want that, but it doesn't have to be shippy. I want the movie to respect the tremendous history these two characters have together, the friendship and the rivalry and the intense loyalty that even Civil War couldn't undo. It doesn't have to be much. But I don't want to watch a movie that's all about them hating on each other because it'd be funny, or because Joss Whedon didn't do the research, or whatever. Just a scene showing that there's more to them than two guys who like to snap at each other. Even if it's just a scene showing that they like the snapping. And I'm really, really worried we won't get it.
