I am possibly the happiest fangirl on the entire freaking planet right now.
They're going to finish The Forever War.

An interview with Chris Allan the artist who is working on the project.
If you don't know what The Forever War is, I will happily inform you! The Forever War was intended to be the end of the Archie Comics run of the TMNT comic book series. They advertised it very briefly, gave us some artwork to entice us into buying the next issues, then cancelled the series without ever completing the storyline. The Forever War never saw the light of day, a sad fact that I have been known to rant about on occasion, usually whenever shown artwork from the promos.
To summarize as much as possible without going on a huge tear about the entire series, Shredder, in the year 2095 steals Donatello's time-travel device (the TSG, Time-Slip Generator) and goes back in time to prevent the Turtles from ever existing. Donatello manages to thwart him by pulling younger versions of himself and his brothers into the future and then sending them after the Shredder. Now trapped in an alternate time-line where they never existed, the guys have to find away to fix things and get back to their own reality. And there's no help coming from Future Don - he died of wounds inflicted by the Shredder.
Future Don was actually a recurring character who (along with Future Raph) made many appearances, so killing him off is pretty cool. It also means they have conceivably given Don a finite future since if they restore things to the proper timeline, Don's still going to be dead in 2095. Unless, of course, they stop Shredder from ever going after the TSG to begin with, which is certainly possible. I almost hope they don't though, just for the edge it would give the comic.
Anyway. That's what The Forever War is. And it's supposed to be out by the end of this year. I will be giggling and incoherent till then and for some time afterward. Thank you, and good night.
