I'm watching SG-1 again from the beginning because... because I will do anything to avoid cleaning the kitchen, apparently. Anyway, I'm up to Season 3 and I'm being reminded all over again why I really, really don't like alternate Sam. I like real Sam who is kickass and Smarter Than You, Sir and not at all weepy. And Alternate Sam seems to spend all her time crying and having knee-jerk reactions and being clingy.

Okay, okay, her entire world was conquered and her husband was killed in front of her and etc, so perhaps I'm not being fair. But I never pictured the Real Sam as being any of those things, even in a situation as bad as that, so seeing Alternate Sam cry like a baby while clinging desperately to a guy she's never met before and insisting that since he looks like her dead husband he's the only one who can help her kind of pisses me off. Plus that whole "Let's kiss dramatically in front of everyone!" goodbye really, really, grates on my nerves.

I really don't get why fandom likes Alternate Sam so much, unless it's because she got to boink Jack in canon.

I have a prescription for Valium!

It's only for four pills. Apparently the dentist thought his life would be easier if I was sedated the next time he saw me. *sheepish* I also have a prescription for painkillers because he doesn't believe me when I tell him I'm not in crippling pain.

The good news is that apparently the dentist I saw in Richmond, who had a huge list of all the things that were wrong and desperately had to be fixed? Full of crap. The new dentist, when I asked him about all the work recommended to me (including having all four wisdom teeth, which are fully in and haven't bothered me since they came in, pulled) he told me none of it was necessary. But if I really wanted to...

Needless to say, I said no. ^_^ I'm very, very relieved.
