Dear K.A. Applegate,

What the hell have you been smoking? This series started out as an intriguing science fiction series with a varied cast. Now it is... even campier than it was in the beginning, and the cast all look, act and sound alike. Did you get bored? What the hell is up with Jake turning into angst-machine leader-boy? And Cassie? I haven't liked her since #15, aka In Which Cassie Refuses to Compromise Her Principals So She Demands Jake Do it For Her, the Whiny Bitch, but it's like you don't even like her anymore. Tobias is turning into an asshole, Rachel - who just a few books ago came to terms with her dark side - is running around trying to murder innocent people - and Marco has become a pansy. You turned Marco into a pansy, you bitch. Marco used to be fucking awesome and you turned him into a pansy!

Please God, don't get me started on the group relations. *twitch* I love how everyone's just turning on each other. And how everything is completely and totally Jake's fault! Even Jake thinks so! *tears hair out at the roots* ARGH!

I'm giving you an incomplete for effort, and if the last ten books aren't editted and rewritten and on my desk first thing Monday morning, you're gonna fail.

No love,
Kelly

Did you know homosexuality was addictive? That might explain some slashfic, actually...

Love In Action considers homosexuality to be as addictive as drugs and alcohol and apparently about as desireable since they're all about curing poor misguided teenagers of teh gay.

A kid named Zach is at the LIA Refuge right now, very much against his will, because he made the terrible mistake of being honest with his parents. Bet you a hundred bucks that if he makes it out of that place with any sort of self-image left he'll never, ever make that mistake again.

[livejournal.com profile] caribbeanblue has a list of the rules and regulations of the program, which include such lovely bits as mandatory shaving for women, and forbidding the kids from discussing "refuge" counselling concerns with their parents.
