onedeadbunny because I figure I had nothing to lose. My pledge? To finish The Blood of Ancients before Feb 1, 2007.
^_^ Oh, my god. Going back and rereading is so amusing. I wrote this thing ten years ago, people. And it shows. Oh, how it shows. It's so bad it's hilarious. Nosedive with super powers! Time-travelling OCs who are secretly the children of the main characters! Angsty Mary-Sue who joins the team and solves all their problems for them! Fortunately, she never made it into the story, but she was there originally.
I may have to rewrite a few earlier chapter just to be able to cope. Because the OOC dialogue alone would earn me a place of honor in some badfic reporting community. Also, I reallllly don't need any of the OCs except Carae. I may play up the whole "evil energy being aiding the Saurians while masquerading as Wildwing's best friend" subplot. It never really got very far before I abandoned the story.
You know, I had a whole extended timeline for this series once. Post-BOA they went back to their homeworld, got split up by evil forces and uncovered a massive conspiracy to seize control of the government. Duke got to be the hero by rescuing everyone and then they all went back to Earth because too many people were trying to use the sons of Ducaine to further their own personal agendas.
Yeah. I had too much free time when I was a kid. ^_^
