Oct. 26th, 2005 09:03 pmHmm.. Real entry, you say? An actual update about my life, you say?
The last few weeks in brief:
-Kidnapped Sonnet
-Went to my aunt's wedding in New Jersey
-Brakes gave out on I-95 somewhere north of Baltimore
-Spent six hours in a garage somewhere in Nowhere-ville, Maryland
-Gave away the bride
-Danced like crazy white girl with no rhythm
-Saw Avatar: The Last Airbender which looks intersting and well-written, although I had no idea what was going on at all
-Drove back to Virginia (Did not die or experience any automobile-related trauma)
-Worked nine days straight with no backup while my lazy bum of a fellow DM called out "sick" for three days before her vacation (she had originally asked those days off and not gotten them, which I find interesting)
-Massive holiday merchandising
-Scheduling insanity
-American Girls Holiday Party planning
-Very nearly went ballistic on lazy bum fellow DM when we found out the District Manager was visiting and that the lazy bum hadn't done any of her required ISO work (I did it all so that we wouldn't get screwed over but she owes me)
-Came home, ordered Chinese and plan to spend the rest of the night watching M*A*S*H and nibbling Dove Chocolates
It's a fascinating life I lead, no?
In other news, my aunt gave me VHS tapes of SG-1 and Atlantis (as well as the new Battlestar series which I'm beginning to like against my will - Sharon intrigues me). I have decided that Rodney, though something of an ass and capable of being a real jerk at times, is definitely my favorite character.
I have a mental image of the Atlantis crew, facing down some random, gender-neutral alien they've just encountered, and explaining "male" and "female" to them.
Alien: "And what are you?"
Rodney (distracted by shiny-glowy gizmo the alien has): "Huh? I'm a physicist."
John and Teyla: *snicker behind alien's back*
For some reason I've been rereading a lot of my old Hardy Boys books. Most of my favorites are missing, probably lost at some point over the last few years, which is too bad. I'd forgotten how much I used to like these. *coughs*smarmy*coughs*
Something random about me: I've always wanted a first edition of What Happened at Midnight. One of these days I'll actually find one in good condition at the same time I have a few extra dollars in my pocket.
Anyway, tomorrow is my first day off in a while, and I plan to enjoy it by going to bed early and sleeping in late. :) Ambitious, I know. Have a great night, everyone.
