Elantris by Brandon Sanderson

yashakizu and sidara, you two must read this. I read the whole thing straight through without stopping. It's great.
Dead Beat by Jim Butcher - I'm going to try to wait for paperback on this one, but damnit - more Harry and Thomas angst!
Part of me also wants to get Sinner by Sara Douglass, but I already own the UK edition. And anyway, the second trilogy is smoking some serious crack. I doubt I'll ever reread them, so I really don't need to spend money on second copies of the trilogy just so all my covers will match. Don't even get me started on Darkwitch Rising and how disappointing that was. Hopefully the fourth and final book in the series will not follow the same path, because I loved the first two.
Books I am reading:
Talon of the Silver Hawk by Raymond Feist, at the recommendation of one of my coworkers.
Quicksiklver by Neal Stephenson - also on the recommendation of a coworker.
Wizard's First Rule by Terry Goodkind - mostly because I feel like I should. I'm not falling in love with it, though. *makes face* Sort of like a cross between Robert Jordan and Ayn Rand, if you can imagine such a thing.
The Dragon Quintet editted by Marvin Kaye - the first story is the only one I've read so far, and although Orson Scott Card isn't my cup of tea, I loved this story. I'm interested in the Elizabeth Moon story, and I'm curious to see what Mercedes Lackey will do with hers as well.
Worlds That Weren't by Harry Turtledove - I've never read anything by Turtledove before, but I'm a big fan of alternate histories (I'm an AU fan, what can I say?) so I thought this might be a safe place to start. Several of his other books look very promising, including Ruled Britannia which my fingers just do not want to spell correctly, for some reason.
In short: Kelly spends too much money of books. Yes she does.
