For some reason my mother always gets worked up when we talk about the neighborhood I live in.

Last night she called and we talked briefly. I was worn out after deathgod02's two-day birthday celebration, which ended with an 8 hour day at Busch Gardens. All I wanted to do was keel over and die, so Mom suggested I go rent a movie and relax.

Me: I don't feel like going all the way to Blockbuster.
Mom: Don't you live across the road from a video rental place? Just run across the street.
Me: I don't feel like paying the cover charge.
Mom: Cover charge?
Me: Yeah. The XXX Treasure Chest has a $2 entrance fee. I guess it's to make sure people don't just go in and leer at the pictures.
Mom: XXX Treasure Chest?
Me: Yeah. It's also a topless bar.
Mom: A video store and topless bar?
Me: Yeah.
Mom: And this is across the street from you?
Me: Yup. Next to the abandoned used car lot and the all-night laundromat that keeps getting robbed.
Mom: Are you sure you don't want to come and live at home?

Honestly, I don't know why she keeps getting so worked up.
