May. 8th, 2010 08:38 pmSo I have a friend. Her name is
sidara. She's a great friend, a great writer and a generally great person. I'd lend her money, ask her to bail me out of prison and trust her to help me murder and dispose of my abusive significant other.
That having been said, I don't trust her as far as I can throw her when it comes to books. Not because her taste is bad, we actually have very similar preferences and standards, though she leans a little heavier to the sci-fi and I'm a bit more to the fantasy/horror, but whatever. No, the reason I don't trust her is because she lies. She is a liar. She recommends books that are horrible just so someone else will read them and know how horrible they are. It's a little mean. Kind of funny when I see it happen to other people, mind you.
That having been said, after the fourth time she assured me Patricia Briggs was worth reading, I finally took her up on it and ended up reading seven of her books in two days. So, you know. She has her moments. :P
