Jun. 2nd, 2007 03:01 amI want to participate in this year's Yuletide so I was over at the archive poking around and found a couple of New Year's Resolutions that I liked and after a little prodding I found one that I can really sink my teeth into. It is, at the moment, getting a little more serious and/or dramatic than I think the original recipient intended, but it does fit the requirements (and according to the FAQ NYR stories don't have to be geared specifically to the recipient, but I think that's half the fun) so I'm going to run with it.
The fandom is one I've never participated in (and didn't even know EXISTED until, like, three days ago) but when I was a kid I lived and breathed these books. There was no bookstore in my hometown, so I'd save up for a trip to Bangor and then buy as many of this author's books as I could find (usually one or two) and then read them over and over a million times until the next time I got to go to Bangor. The characters were a ton of fun and the situations were usually just absurd enough that I can justify almost anything plot-wise. I think I'll have fun with it.
