Five Things Part Six

5 fanfics everyone should read, regardless of fandom (extra spiffy bonus points if my sadistic work internet doesn't block the site).
While the Ring Went South by Thundera Tiger: Lord of the Rings fic, set during the books. Incredibly long, incredibly good.
Closed Doors and Open Windows by Skybright Dave: TMNT fanfic set in the movie-verse. Surprisingly emotional and well-written. The hazards of having friends who live outside the normal.
A Thousand Miles by Therienne: Avatar: the Last Airbender fanfic set before the beginning of the series. Zuko's exile would have been a lot different if Iroah hadn't exiled himself as well.
Pieces Tossed Aside by ana_grrl: this is Firefly fanfic, possibly the only one I've ever read and liked. It's survival fiction of the best sort, poignant and a little painful. I love the ending.
Planet Megalodon Wraith Defense Force by Pentapus: I had a hard time picking just one Stargate fanfic, and to be honest this one was tied with about seven others, but I finally picked it for the title. How can you NOT read a fic with that title? Especially when it's a long, plotty action story that reads like it could hav ebeen an episode of the series?
Bonus recs:
Absolutely anything and everything at The Less Than Legendary Journeys. This is all Hercules/Xena fanfic of the highest calibur.
And also: Three awesome crossovers:
Been There, Done That by Martha Wilson: Stagate SG-1/Hercules the Legendary Journeys. No, seriously. And it works.
When Hellmouths Collide by Martha Wilson and Kimberly Rector: Buffy/Hercules. Long, in-character and funny. This is the fic that managed to make me like Buffy.
The Very Secret Diary of Captain Jack Sparrow: What are the odds someone could make Lord of the Rings and Pirates of the Caribbean into a crossoveR? Well, I won't pretend this is a serious fic (it's not by any stretch of the imagination) but it's still hilarious and well worth the read.
And her (very late) Five Things responses:
( Five Things That Would Happen if Yuusuke And Batman Traded Jobs for a Day )
( Five Things That Would Happen if Yuusuke Had to Do My Job For a Day )
( 5 reasons Harry Dresden will never get married. )
