It's good to know that the Catholic Church is willing to openly discriminate against not only homosexuals, but also people who are supportive or sympathetic towards their homosexual friends and fellow parishoners.

If you haven't heard already, the Catholic Church in Saint Paul denies communion to people wearing rainbow sashes and/or ribbons.

This is, I feel, a very bad thing. If you feel the same, let someone know about it:

Archdiocese of Saint Paul and Minneapolis
226 Summit Avenue
Saint Paul, MN 55102
(651) 291-4400

communications@archspm.org

And if you're interested in how your local diocese feels about this find their contact info and let them know. Not all Catholics are hateful, and it's damned well time someone tells the Church that.

By God I did not spend 13 years in Sunday School for nothing. *cracks knuckles* Argue scripture with me, bastards. I dare you.

Ah, the real world is calling.

Worked the morning shift today, then got kidnapped to dinner with Diane and Kimberly. We went to Coldstone's afterwards, which pretty much made my day. A good thing too, because work is slowly sapping my will to live.

The two ASMs got into it today over vacation time. The company I work for has six holidays in a year (Christmas, Thanksgiving, Memorial Day, Labor Day, July 4, New Year's). Hourly employees have a choice between getting paid for an extra day (at time and a half) or getting paid their regular wages with an extra day off. Management doesn't get the choice, and we just get the extra paid day. ASM1 denied this. Adamantly. Repeatedly. At extreme length. ASM2 looked it up in the handbook, the HR binder, and eventually called a Store Manager at another store and asked. ASM1 is wrong.

Cue massive hissy fit.

And of course, since I and the other DM were both "No, no, ASM2 is right" we are now against ASM1. It is all a conspiracy and we are teaming up on her.

And this is a grown woman more than twice my age. *makes face*

ASM1 is the same manager who had a screaming match with the new Store Manager about how this was supposed to be her store and he better not get comfortable because he won't be there for long. She also managed to get into an argument with the District Manager about what work she needs to do to become promotable. Basically, she thinks she's perfect and no one else agrees.

I will be a store manager before her, if she keeps this up.

But dinner was good, and intelligent conversation was wonderful. Now if only I can avoid anything annoying for the rest of the night...
