Randomness

After having 48 hours off in a row, my Season Three box set of Hercules arrives less than an hour before I have to go in to work. The irony kills me. However, I have two days off in a row at the beginning of next week, so we know what I'll be doing then.

Georgia is stupid. Sorry, but it is. Frankly, I'm starting to feel that way about most of the US. Although Orgeon amuses me. I agree with whoever it was that said it was a sign that the whole country had gone mad. I think it's true.

Saw Starsky and Hutch. Spent most of movie desperately trying to pretend I was dead, then came home and watched Starsky's Coffin on my lovely DVD box set to get the taste of Ben Stiller out of my mouth. I tried to give it a fair chance, I really did, but there wasn't a damn thing in that mockery that I could enjoy. Although Snoop Dog did a fairly good imitation of Huggy Bear.

Saw Dawn of the Dead. Mindless, but fun. Not as scary as some of the others, if only because we didn't get enough information. I think movies like 28 Days Later, where they tell us what the sickness is and how it spread, are a lot more frightening than just having it come out of nowhere. I want to rent the original movies and watch them late at night. Why yes, Kelly does enjoy scaring herself mindless!

I have cast James Marsters in the role of Phil in the Richmond: Invasion story. This pleases Laura as her character spends a lot of time helping Phil shoot things and blow shit up. If you have no idea what this is, I posted a snippet in my writing journal over at [livejournal.com profile] chaoscentral a while back. Basically, it involves zombies.

I have applied for a third job. Why? Because I'm stupid. Suncoast is hiring part-time and I spend enough money there I figured I might as well apply. Plus, the employee discount is nice, the employees themselves are all very cool to talk to when I'm shopping there, and it would be a lot closer than the restaurant (my first part-time job) which is 20 minutes from my house. And which I hate with a burning firey passion. So cross your fingers for me!

I've got AG at work (full-time work) tonight, which I'm looking forward to in the same way that one might look forward to a public flogging. It's too nice out to go to work, and I had to sit down and lecture myself on being a responsible adult so I wouldn't call in sick today. I don't think I actually am a responsible adult, but I can fake it well when I feel the need to impress someone. Plus, considering how understaffed we are at the moment, combined with the fact that NO ONE else can stand running my department, I figure I'll be killed if I call out. So it's really self-preservation.

Wrote another page of Sonnet's fanfic today. I convinced her that I'd write her a page for every page she wrote me. It seems to be providing me with some motivation to get off my tailbone and write something. It's all Yu Yu Hakusho fic, of course, which will probably get me a scolding from Kat at some point later on.

Now I shall go and prepare for work, where I will deal with crowds, annoying customers, hyperactive children and trainee co-workers who are really very nice but not on a Friday night when we're already too damn busy. Whoever decided that it was a good idea to train people on the busiest night of our week deserves to die.

On a parting note:

I have Iolaus! I have Iolaus! *glomps box set and dances around apartment* mwahahahaha!

This is going to make me twice as bitter about work tonight. ^_^
