I saw Return of the King for the second time today. Despite the extremely annoying young man next to me who kept repeating, "That wasn't in the books!" rather indignantly at just about every scene - including quite a few that were in the books - I managed to enjoy myself. Pat and I cried, Mom was just like "what? what's going on? Who's that girl again? No, the elf one." But she says she enjoyed it, too.

Molly and I are going to see it together at the end of January, but I may go see it sooner than that. Maybe an early show on my day off or something. It just sank in that this is the end and there's no more coming, and I think I'm starting into withdrawl symptoms. I'm going to have to start scouring ff.net again.

And, in other news...

In keeping with tradition, I present: my booty.

Not a big haul, and lots of it was grown-up stuff. Mom and Dad bought me a digital camera - nice one, too, although not the super-duper model they have for the business. They also contributed $50 and assorted little stocking stuffers such as socks (you know you're firmly entrenched in grown-up life when not only do you actually ask for socks, but you're happy when you get them), a new bottle of hand lotion (Oil of Olay, as it's Mom's favorite), a small bottle of Bailey's Irish Cream, which I split up amongst everyone over dinner tonight. My sister got me Lord of the Rings Checkers. Can I tell you how amused I am with this? I may force someone to play with me when I get back home. *hinthint nudgenudge Sonnet and Laura*

Pat and Jerry gave me Ever After and Never Been Kissed on DVD. I love the first, but I've never seen the second.

Aunt Anne buys all of the adult women in the family a Swarovski ornament for Christmas. This was my second year getting one and I continue to feel extremely proud of myself. One day being considered an adult may get old but I still find it kind of a power trip.

Got money, money and more money from everyone else. One of the managers at work gave me $20 gift certificate to B&N, because, and I quote, "I couldn't do my job without your hard work." *beams* Sonnet's parents gave me a gift certificate to Fridays, which I will spend on my mother tomorrow afternoon.

Bobby told me I have to wait till January. But when I mentioned that I was spending my Christmas money to buy myself a PS2 he very, very adamantly told me I had damned well better not. So I may be getting a PS2!

My sister and I actually got along. No kidding. We didn't argue once. We actually teamed up against Mom a few times. It was strange.

Tomorrow I'm getting my nails done - possibly my hair as well - and using Christmas money to buy Pirates of the Caribbean. I love that movie. It's just one long fight scene with witty commentary.

Ooh, Lethal Weapon is on! Night all!
