May. 10th, 2003 11:49 pmLast night was fun. Got to hang out with Mimi and Sho and Sonnet (who suprprised me by coming after all). We went to Friday's and then went back to the apartment. It didn't quite degenerate into an orgy, although it came rather close in some places. I was tickled mercileslly. Vengeance will be had. Jeff was evil when he decorated Megan's cake, butI won't tell how.
Tonight at work was fun. I learned that I am not the only one pissed off at Michelle. Yay! She's psuedo-dating someone she really oughtn't be. Someone in a position of authority, and as a result she's allowed to do things that no one else in her position is allowed to - basically they're treating her like a Lead or higher, and other people, who've been there longer and proven themselves already, are annoyed that she has all these liberties and they don't.
I'm pissed off because the person she is almost-involved with actually told me to check with her before I changed something in MY OWN DEPARTMENT. I pointed out that, as head of the department, Michelle actualyl worked FOR ME, and thus I didn't need to ask her permission to do my job. I was very annoyed.
Meanwhile, it's Harry Potter Mania Month at Barnes and Noble. I'm actually having a ton of fun with it. I've scheduled a children's storytime, an evening party for older kids with trivia contests, cake, a review of the first four books, a brainstorming session to see what WE would put in the fifth book if it was up to us, a rumors and gossip session, and at the end we'll learn how to play Quidditch and hand out prizes to whoever can name the entire Weasley family from oldest to youngest. Then there's the Midnight Magic Party for the release, and the week after we're having a follow-up reading/book club sort of meeting, where we get a bunch of kids together and talk about the fifth book.
Busy, yet very, very fun. Corporate sent us Wizard Hats and Harry Potter glasses to wear, and we're going to make silly announcements over the PA, and we're hanging lights, and it's just going to be a ton of fun. I can't wait.
