Well, I've got opening night of Harry Potter off from both jobs - without asking! There's karma at work.

Tonight was mandatory night at B&N. We went over the Christmas floorplan, the new On Call status for booksellers who work from November 29th through December 31st, the four points of customer service, the nifty gift card contest (if we win we each get $100 in gift cards) and why we rock more than Borders and BAM. Which, sadly, we do. Except in discount cards - we're the most expensive one, there.

Since it was mandatory, we got paid for 2 and a half hours of hanging out and eating pizza. There were a couple training videos (funny as hell, I'm not kidding. So bad they were hilarious) and a couple of lectures, but Jodi (the store manager) is really funny, so no one minded. We openly mocked the videos and teased her in front of her boss and it was good.

They also gave away a ton of free stuff to whoever was standing around when they felt like giving it. I got the new Dilbert book, the Simpsons 2003 page-a-day calendar, a road atlas, a bunch of books and the knowledge that Sports Night is now out on DVD.

*skrieks in joy*

MUST have it. It's $59.99 at the store, though, which means I know have to choose between it and the LotR special edition. *angst* I *so* want the Sports Night set. I loved that show.

So anyway, Mom's gone home, I talked to my manager and got some more hours, the cats are behaving, and I haven't talked to the cops for two whole days, although I did hear the psycho guy yelling at someone outside his door this evening when I was trying to go to work. I promptly hid in the apartment until they stopped, cause I don't want to meet this guy when he's already in a bad mood. Yes, I am brave.

Megan and I are both moving out of the apartment for a couple of weeks while this gets dealt with. It's a pain, but I cannot take this guy anymore. Mom told me about how he sicked them on her the other day and I just about started crying in the middle of TGI Fridays. Mom says she just about went nuts from the stress while she was with us.

More good news - I got to talk to Colleen AND Molly today. That was really nice; I haven't heard from either of them for weeks. I miss them both twice as much now, but, hey. Colleen tried to convince me to come see her play when we take her home after Thanksgiving, but I have to find out exactly what we're doing before I say yes.

Now I am going to go play BookWorm and Diamond Mine some more while I wait to get sleepy.
