Feb. 22nd, 2007 12:48 amI've had, in all honestly, a lousy month. We've lost two managers since November and I'm doing both of their jobs, plus my job, plus the other department manager's job (this last bit is not new, she never does anything, and my only consolation is that our store manager has noticed). I've been thrown into a position that I'm not trained for and while I feel I've been doing a damned good job, I'm starting to get very frustrated because it's been a month and no move has been made to replace either manager. I also feel like I'm being used, because they know I'm capable and that I'll do it because I want the store to be successful and employees to be happy, but they have no intent to reimburse and/or recognize me for this. Basically, I feel I'm being screwed.
Add to that the fact that I've been feeling isolated and I'm in a weird place with the whole Chris thing and I've generally been in the dumps for a while now.
But then I read someone's summary of what certain books would look like if authors had to list warnings the way fanfic writers seem to be expected to:
A Song of Ice and Fire: Character death, character death, character death, character death, character death, character death....
And I laughed so hard I coughed up a lung. Seriously, it's the little shit that can pull you out of the dumps.
