onemuseleftAm I the only one who thinks that a religious leader dressing up as Santa Claus to show the real 'reason for the season' is possibly the most asinine thing ever? Since when is Santa Claus the 'reason for the season'? I thought Christians were mad because it was all about Jesus - not Santa. Dude, obviously all those Sundays spent in Catechism were wasted if I never figured out that, forget Jesus, man, it's all about Santa.

The thing that makes me want to bash people's heads against the wall is all this talk about how "There's protests about considering others' feelings, but no consideration for the feelings of those who celebrate Christmas!" Dude, no one said "EW CHRISTMAS!" No one spray paints your house because they see you hanging Christmas lights.
All people are trying to do is show consideration for everyone's holiday. Thanksgiving, Christmas, Kwanzaa, Yule, etc, etc, etc.
And if Christmas has turned into a huge, non-religious, commercial extravaganza? Well, maybe you should have thought of that before you marketted your savior's birth as a nationwide day off work. Seriously. I very much doubt the Jews and Atheists got up one day a few decades ago and said "Hey! Let's spend the rest of the century trying to make this Christian holiday the single most celebrated holiday EVER! Yeah!"
Do you think that? I don't.
And Christmas isn't even the most important holiday to the Christian faith anyway. It's supposed to be Easter, and it's supposed to be the celebration of Christ and how he rose again from the dead, forgiving man for their sins and offering everyone the hope of salvation. That's supposed to be more important. But no, you're all concentrating on Christmas because it has presents.
I propose a solution! Start concentrating on your most important holiday, which is not facing any other serious competition (March of Ides and May Day don't really qualify for a "happy holidays" battle, I'm thinking) - that I can think of anyway.
And shut up, for christ's sake. I bet he's tired of all the fighting during "the most wonderful time of the year."
